Toothbrush Brush all areas of the teeth using short circular motions. Remember that gum lines are very important.
Proxibrush Use this to remove small pieces of food between braces and any area that is difficult to reach with your toothbrush.
Superfloss This is floss with a threader attached to one end. You can use the stiff end to get the floss under the wire then floss as you normally would. This floss has a portion that is thick. The thick part is useful when you have spaces between your teeth.
Fluoride Rinse This is a prescription strength fluoride rinse. It is best to use this once a day at bedtime after brushing. Rinse vigorously with 2 teaspoons for one minute. Do not swallow. For best results do not rinse or eat for at least 30 minutes after use, unless otherwise directed. Wax Form a small ball of wax around any brace that is causing discomfort. The wax will adhere better if the brace is dried before placing it. Remove the wax before eating. If you run out of wax between appointments and can’t get to the office, wax is available at most drugstores.
Medication For Ulcers You may frequently experience an ulcer during Orthodontic treatment. We are able to eliminate these by using a couple of treatments: Brace Relief- Isolate ulcer and dry it with one end of a Q- tip. Apply a small amount of the gel on the other end of the Q- tip and gently cover the affected area with the gel. Allow the gel to dry before wetting the area. Reapply as needed. Rincinol- Which can be swished with for one minute, avoid eating for one hour for best results.
Sulca Brush and or Tuft Brush This Brush is very effective at removing Plaque at the gumline and from around, above, and below your brackets where many patients tend to accumulate plaque. Please follow directions on the package.
Sulcus (Two Row Toothbrush) Use this Very similar to your regular toothbrush, at a 45 degree angle to the gum line vibrate in a small circular motion to remove bacterial plaque and food debris.
